VIDEO: Technology Getting Nation’s Top Utilities to Think Different

WASHINGTON—There’s a revolution happening in the energy industry, powered by smart meters, smart grids and groundbreaking technologies.

Last week, PG&E joined the nation’s top utilities to discuss how to better serve customers by taking advantage of innovation that’s happening at a breakneck speed.

PG&E and other utilities are at the forefront of a movement to get customers to think different about their energy use—the same way, for example, that they manage their cell phone use and expenses.

Currents videographer James Green captured highlights of the “Powering the People” conference in the following video, including interviews with PG&E leader Tony Earley and Lisa Wood, head of The Edison Foundation’s Institute for Electric Efficiency.
