PG&E will host open houses this week in Yolo and Marin counties to talk to residents about upcoming hydrostatic pressure tests.
Customers who live near pressure-test locations have received letters with information about the hydrostatic pressure tests.
Experts from PG&E will be on hand to answer questions on the testing. Poster boards will provide additional information.
In 2011, PG&E tested the pressure on about 160 miles of gas transmission pipelines. Most of these were in urban areas, known as high-consequence areas. This video explains how a pipeline pressure test works.
These are the dates and locations of the open houses:
- Wednesday, April 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Yolo Community Center (14189 First St., Yolo, CA 95697).
- Thursday, April 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel (1010 Northgate Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903).
PG&E offers a detailed explanation of the testing procedure on its website.
