PG&E will host open houses this week in Napa and Fairfield to talk to residents about upcoming hydrostatic pressure testing.
Customers who live near pressure-test locations have received letters with information about the hydrostatic pressure tests.
Experts from PG&E will be on hand to answer questions on the testing. Poster boards will provide additional information.
In 2011, PG&E tested the pressure on about 160 miles of gas transmission pipelines. Most of these were in urban areas, known as high-consequence areas. This video explains how a pipeline pressure test works.
Here are the dates and locations of the open houses:
- Monday, Aug. 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Napa Valley Marriott (3425 Solano Ave., Napa)
- Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Staybridge Suites (4775 Business Center Drive, Fairfield)
PG&E offers a detailed explanation of the testing procedure on its website.
