PG&E’s Ezra Garrett presented a $125,000 donation to the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks, an announcement made Monday (Dec. 17) during a weather report on KPIX-TV.
Garrett, vice president of community relations, provided the check to Shari Freedman, board chair of the food bank, and mentioned the utility’s long partnership with the food bank where PG&E employees regularly volunteer.
“We’re very grateful for all that you do to support needy families here in the Bay Area,” Garrett said.
Freedman returned the thanks: “On behalf of the Food Bank in the San Francisco and the Marin County Food Bank, we are just so grateful for what you’ve done. This is such a generous gift.”
KPIX weather anchor Lawrence Karnow then invited viewers to the station’s website to make their own donation to help Bay Area families in need.
