Gilroy: Open House to Update Residents on Pipeline Replacement

PG&E will host an open house Tuesday (Jan. 7) to update residents on a transmission pipeline replacement project in Gilroy.

The company is replacing sections of its natural gas pipeline near Monterey Street between 3rd and Lewis streets in this Santa Clara County community. Work is expected to begin in January and last until mid-March, although weather and other factors affecting safe working conditions could change the schedule.

The work is part of PG&E’s system-wide program to ensure the safety of transmission pipelines that deliver gas across the region.

Replacement pipelines are made with modern materials and installed using safe and proven installation methods that are used throughout the nation.

Gas service is continuing without interruption in most during the replacement project. PG&E will contact customers if there will be any impacts.

Here is the date and location of the open house:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gilroy Public Library (350 W. 6th St.) in Gilroy
