Pacific Grove: Open House to Answer Questions about Pipeline Replacement

PG&E will host an open house on Wednesday (Jan. 8) to talk to residents about an upcoming distribution pipeline replacement project in Pacific Grove.

The company will be upgrading a portion of its natural gas distribution system serving Spazier and Hillcrest Avenues, between 19th Street and Forest Avenue, on Forest Avenue, between Spazier and Beaumont Avenues, in the alleyway between Beaumont and Hillcrest avenues from Forest Avenue to 14th Street, on 14th Street from the alleyway to Hillcrest Avenue and on Fountain Avenue from the alleyway to Beaumont Avenue.

Work in the Monterey County community is expected to begin in mid- to late January and last until early May.

Most of the pipelines that will be replaced are located under the street, although a portion of the replacement work will take place on private property. PG&E will let customers know if their gas service will be interrupted.

At the end of the project, the utility will refinish roadways and work with property owners to restore landscaping.

Here is the date and location of the open house where experts from PG&E will attend to answer questions:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the library at Pacific Grove Middle School (835 Forest Ave.) in Pacific Grove.
