PG&E has chosen a name for a new high voltage transmission line project proposed for the greater Fresno area: Central Valley Power Connect. PG&E already has begun public outreach and is conducting a series of public open houses in April and May to educate and inform the public about the proposed project.

At a safe-digging event in Fresno, PG&E representatives joined local officials to remind people to call 811 before starting any digging project. As a bonus, 100 trees were given away to those who pledged to call 811.

PG&E’s PowerPathway Program, a partnership between the utility and local entities, such as Fresno City College and the Fresno Regional Workforce Investment Board, provides students with free training in the skills they need to gain entry level jobs in the energy industry. Twenty-two new graduates of the program all are military veterans.
