When PG&E’s Latino Employee Resource Group learned there was a need for long-sleeve shirts for Central Valley farmworkers, they immediately sprang into action. Within a few weeks, they collected about 120 shirts and 245 bandanas from members in Fresno, Bakersfield and San Jose.

The new electric distribution control center will help improve electric reliability and will be followed by two others slated to open in Concord and Rocklin by next year. Aaron Lewis, a PG&E backhoe operator, was honored in Fresno today for his heroic actions that saved the life of a man injured in an accident. “It’s an amazing thing he did,” said Fresno City Council Member Paul Caprioglio. “I think it just represents what PG&E is all about.”

PG&E held the first in a series of open houses last week in Fresno and Caruthers to introduce a proposed electric transmission line project to the public. The line is needed to meet the growing demand for electricity in the Central Valley region.

PG&E has chosen a name for a new high voltage transmission line project proposed for the greater Fresno area: Central Valley Power Connect. PG&E already has begun public outreach and is conducting a series of public open houses in April and May to educate and inform the public about the proposed project.
