CURRENTS WEEK IN REVIEW: JAn. 12-16, 2015

PG&E SUPPORTING FIVE CITIES IN $5 MILLION GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY ENERGY EFFICIENCY COMPETITION

Five Northern California cities – Berkeley, Davis, Fremont, San Mateo and Sunnyvale – are among 50 nationwide named as semi-finalists in a two-year energy efficiency competition. The city that wins the Georgetown University Energy Prize will receive $5 million. PG&E is providing technical support and up to $20,000 in funding for each city to support the effort.

A resident kit fox at the Bakersfield Service Center suffering from mange is now recovering at a local animal facility and has a good chance of surviving thanks to PG&E employees. This endangered species is found throughout the southern San Joaquin Valley.

Yuba County: PG&E Upgrading Natural Gas Pipes in Marysville

PG&E began work to modernize the natural gas distribution system in Marysville as part of its ongoing efforts to create the safest, most reliable gas system in the nation. This is the fourth phase in modernizing the system in historic parts of Marysville.
