CURRENTS WEEK IN REVIEW: April 27 - May 1, 2015


For the past 10 years, PG&E has installed solar on every Habitat for Humanity home in the utility's service area. This week, a Brown Bag Build event was staged in San Francisco to honor that partnership. Volunteers and those on their lunch hour built door and window frames that will become part of a Habitat development in San Francisco's Ocean View neighborhood.

Kern County: 'Spring Cleaning' Helps Ensure Summer Electric Reliability

PG&E inspects and activates equipment called capacitor banks throughout its service area each spring prior to the onset of summer heat. It’s PG&E’s own version of spring cleaning to ensure the electric system functions properly when customers turn on air conditioners and ceiling fans.


Oakland: PG&E Sponsors Robotics Competition, Supports STEM Education

More than 70 teams traveled to Oakland to compete in the FIRST® Tech Challenge West Super-Regional Championship, an annual event that helps young people discover the rewards and excitement of education and careers in science, engineering and technology.


Agriculture, Business Leaders Join in Support of Central Valley Power Connect

Leaders like Al Smith, president and CEO of the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, announced the formation of the Central Valley Coalition for Reliable Power this week. The group talked in Fresno about its support of the Central Valley Power Connect Project.
