PG&E HELPED CUSTOMERS SAVE THROUGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAMS IN 2015

Customers saved a total of $227 million on their energy bills last year by taking part in PG&E’s energy efficiency programs. On average, a typical PG&E residential customer saved $60 to $100 and helped improve the environment by reducing energy waste. Through energy efficiency programs and more, PG&E supports California’s clean energy goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change and improve air quality. The company also encourages customers to look to programs and tips to lower summer energy bills.

Scholarship Award From PG&E Surprises Rocklin Student, Father

An unsuspecting student at Rocklin High School was surprised with the announcement that he won a $20,000-a-year Better Together Scholarship from PG&E. Dominic Navarro’s father, a local TV reporter sent to cover the event, was equally surprised. More than half of the 10 winners have now been announced.

Kindergarten Class Names Young Peregrine Falcons on PG&E Building

The three falcons hatched atop PG&E’s downtown San Francisco building were banded by scientists earlier this month and given names. The names Talon, Grace and Flash — submitted by a Los Gatos kindergarten class — were selected after PG&E customers were invited to take part in a naming contest.

Several students and teachers who took part in PG&E’s first Solar Suitcase program have returned from delivering the solar kits to communities in Kenya. For Alan Drew, who climbed his first power pole at age 6, being a lineman is in his blood. He worked for 30 years at PG&E before retiring and now shares his passion for the job and linemen history in the book “The American Lineman.” His story has also inspired graduates of PG&E’s Apprentice Line Worker Program.
