CURRENTS WEEK IN REVIEW: July 20-24, 2015

PG&E SURPASSES 10,000 SOLAR CUSTOMERS IN SAN JOSE, BAKERSFIELD AND FRESNO AS PART OF LARGER MILESTONE

This week, PG&E celebrated connecting 10,000 solar customers in three of California’s largest cities — Bakersfield, Fresno and San Jose. The achievements in each of the cities is part of PG&E’s larger milestone of connecting the 175,000th solar customer to its electric grid. More Californians are now considering solar for their home, showing how customers are opting for and supporting clean energy. PG&E supports customer choice for renewable energy and provides resources and tools to help them navigate the solar landscape.

Recent college graduates Qusai Bhaijeewala and Muffadal Hussain want to work in the solar industry so badly that they took a Greyhound bus from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. They were among 200 job seekers at PG&E’s Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco.

PG&E Extends Power to Pumps as Drought Threatens Drinking Water

Water at Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara County is barely more than 25 percent of its 194,000 acre-feet capacity, a victim of the state’s lingering drought. PG&E responded – and quickly -- when the water board requested service to its pumps so that it could get drinking water to roughly 200,000 residents.
