Recent rains have caused PG&E reservoirs along both the Pit River and North Fork Feather River to overflow or soon overflow in Shasta, Butte, Plumas and Butte counties. Those near the reservoirs are asked to be cautious.

For the second consecutive year, employees from PG&E’s North Valley Division organized a food drive for the North State Food Bank. PG&E and its employees donated 120 frozen turkeys, dozens of hams and a variety of cans containing soups to nuts —2,776 pounds in all.

More than 2,000 PG&E personnel fanned out across Northern and Central California over the past five days to restore power to hundreds of thousands of customers impacted by the first storms of 2015. Heavy rain and high winds pummeled a large swath of the utility’s service area. From early morning on Friday through Tuesday, the utility restored service to nearly all of the more than 460,000 customers who lost power.

PG&E has scheduled a planned power outage for Chester on Saturday, Sept. 27, while crews make upgrades to improve electric reliability. The outage is scheduled to take place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will impact approximately 2,500 customers in virtually all of Chester and small portions of Lake Almanor and Westwood.
