Planned Outage in Whitmore as Electric System Upgraded

PG&E has scheduled a planned power outage for Whitmore on Saturday, June 7, so crews can safely replace two wooden poles and make additional upgrades on power lines to increase electric reliability in eastern Shasta County.

Whitewater Enthusiasts, Others Should Use Caution as PG&E Increases Flows on Pit River

PG&E will increase flows on the Pit 3 Reach of the Pit River from March 16 to May 9 while planned maintenance occurs at the Pit 3 powerhouse electric switchyard. PG&E encourages people recreating in or near this portion of the river to use extra caution during the increased flows.

1930s Cabin Removed for Safety

The old “Rat Farm” cabin near the McArthur Swamp in eastern Shasta County was demolished this week because it had become a potential hazard to visitors on the site. In recent years, the building had greatly deteriorated, was beyond a state of repair and interestingly enough, harbored rodents.

PG&E Refills Reservoir Near Hat Creek After Repairs

PG&E has refilled a reservoir in eastern Shasta County after reinforcing a berm that developed a sink hole from rodent burrowing last year. The reservoir will be available for the opening of trout season.
