Daily air patrols began in June and ended Oct. 31. The PG&E patrols spotted 146 fires and in 25 instances were the first to report them to Cal Fire or the U.S. Forest Service allowing the agencies to respond quickly.

PG&E has scheduled a planned power outage for all of Whitmore on Saturday, May 2, so crews can safely replace electric equipment on power lines and make additional improvements to increase electric reliability in eastern Shasta County.

PG&E will begin work this week to upgrade natural gas distribution lines on a half-mile section of Churn Creek Road in Redding. PG&E crews are scheduled to perform the $1 million in upgrades through mid-July.

PG&E will be increasing the water level of Lake Britton while it tests newly installed bladder crest gates atop the Lake Britton Dam. PG&E encourages people recreating in or near Lake Britton or in the Pit River downstream of the Lake Britton Dam to use extra caution from March 21-31.

More than 2,000 PG&E personnel fanned out across Northern and Central California over the past five days to restore power to hundreds of thousands of customers impacted by the first storms of 2015. Heavy rain and high winds pummeled a large swath of the utility’s service area. From early morning on Friday through Tuesday, the utility restored service to nearly all of the more than 460,000 customers who lost power.
