The PG&E Corporation Foundation Helping Hometowns Recover from Major January Storms
Up to $250,000 Pledged to Organizations Aiding Local Relief, Rebuild and Cleanup
By Tracy Correa Lopez
It has been several weeks since a string of atmospheric river storms pummeled California, but many communities are still recovering and cleaning up the damage. The PG&E Corporation Foundation (The Foundation) is supporting hometowns across PG&E's service area with $250,000 in charitable contributions through its Winter Storm Relief Fund.
Contributions will be directed to nonprofit organizations, agencies and tribes providing emergency support to areas and people most impacted by the recent storms.
Charitable funding has been pledged to agencies identified in some of the hardest hit communities, prioritizing programs that support relief and rebuilding.
Consideration also was given to programs providing continuing support to the most at-risk members of impacted communities, including children, seniors, those with access and functional needs, medically fragile, low income, those dealing with food insecurity, or otherwise vulnerable to impacts from extreme weather.

Additional emergency response and disaster relief funding
The Foundation’s 2023 Winter Storm Relief Fund builds on $2 million in charitable contributions last year from PG&E and The Foundation for localized emergency services. Additionally, PG&E contributed $300,000 to the American Red Cross for its disaster response program. A portion of the Red Cross funding was used to support shelter locations for California residents impacted by the recent January storms.
PG&E also provided local communities with go-bags that included water, snacks, blankets and battery packs during the storms. It also supported organizations like Second Harvest Food Bank. Watch a video on how PG&E supported customers in the Santa Cruz area working with local nonprofits.
