Every week through July, we'll highlight the many ways PG&E is here to support customers. Resource Roundup is intended to provide customers with important information that you can share with friends, family, and neighbors.
This spring, more than 5 million PG&E customers will automatically receive the California Climate Credit on their energy bill.
- California Climate Credit: If you’re a PG&E gas or electric customer, you’ll see a credit on your April billing cycle. And if you get both gas and electric service, that credit will be more than $140. The best news is that no action is necessary for customers! Here’s how it breaks down:
- Electric Credit: $55.17
- Natural Gas Credit: $85.46
- Total Credit: $140.63 (for combined use customers)
The California Climate Credit is part of the state’s efforts to fight climate change and is distributed by PG&E to customers as directed by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). This credit is from the California Cap-and-Trade Program, which requires power plants, fuel providers, and large industrial facilities that emit greenhouse gases to buy carbon pollution allowances. This bill credit is designed to help utility customers during the transition to a low-carbon future.
