PG&E wants to make sure customers know about the many ways they can reduce their monthly energy bill. From a Home Energy Checkup to Golden State Rebates, there are many money-saving programs available right now – and many of them are free.

-
Power Saver Rewards Program: The power to save energy is in your hands with this free program that rewards customers for temporarily reducing energy use when demand for electricity is high. Events may occur from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. between May 1 and October 31. Customers are notified of an upcoming Power Saver Rewards event the day before through email or text message. If events occur, you’ll receive a credit on your bill after the program season of $1 per kilowatt hour (kWh) of energy that you reduce during events. There is no penalty for customers who don’t reduce their energy use.
-
HomeIntel Program: How about getting a coach to help you win the energy-saving game? This is another free program PG&E supports for customers, most of whom have a Smart Meter. It includes a Smart Audit account and a dedicated personal energy coach. The personal energy coach conducts a detailed analysis of your household’s energy use patterns. They can help identify and combat energy drainers, suggest upgrades and offer simple, no-cost, and low-cost changes to help save money. Customers can request an in-person audit, although most personal energy coaches meet online or over the phone.
